In a tragic story from the U.K., an elderly couple attempted suicide out of despair over their inability to care for their 33-year-old daughter, who has Asperger syndrome. It is terrible to see people being pushed to such an extreme. Our society has got so many things wrong. We are doing so much to help the rest of the world. Sadly we are doing so little for our own people. We seem to be directed towards a false feeeling of security for the after-life if we help others. Shouldn’t charity begin at home? Shouldn’t we help our people first?
