Sweet relief

What do you give your children when they have a bad cough? New research indicates you might be better off reaching for cocoa than codeine. Theobromine, a chocolate derivative, proved more effective at calming persistent coughs than conventional remedies, with none of the sleepy side effects. This will be good news to parents of kids who take medications that conflict with common cold relievers, though perhaps not so good for those with chocolate allergies.
