Happy ADD Day

Wednesday September 14, 2005
Today is National Attention Deficit Disorder Awareness Day, although anybody who lives with a 80 mph kid in a 55 mph world would have to say that being aware of ADD/ADHD is kind of a 24/7 thing. But since the U.S. Senate has been so good as to resolve to dedicate this day to acknowledging attention deficit and hyperactivity as public health problems, here are some articles around and about Parenting Special Needs to raise your own awareness, or help you raise someone else's:
+ Preparing the School for Your Child with ADD/ADHD
+ Book Review: Should I Medicate My Child?
+ Book Review: The Myth of the ADD Child
+ What Is ADHD?
+ What Is ADD?
+ ADHD and Behavior
+ Handling Your Child's Behavior Issues
+ Write Your Own School Behavior Plan
+ Behavior and Discipline for Students with Special Needs
Then again, maybe the best possible way to celebrate ADD Day is to give a little extra love, affection and attention to your own personal ADD/ADHDer.
