Question of the Day: Holiday programs

Sunday October 30, 2005
School holiday programs: Delightful or disastrous? Sometimes the disruption of rehearsals and enforced standing and behavioral expectations and too much music can put a special-needs child into stress overload, rendering the holidays even more unmanageable. And sometimes seeing your child on stage with his or her mainstream peers, singing and dancing like any other rosy-cheeked cherub, makes it all worthwhile. Does your child's school put on a holiday show, and how do you feel about it? Select the answer that's closest to your parental gut reaction -- or choose more than one by using your browser's back button to come back to the quiz after answering.
1) Yes, and it's wonderful!
2) Yes, and it's more trouble than it's worth.
3) Yes, and it's a problem for my child.
4) Only for kids in band and/or chorus.
5) Only for kids who want to participate.
6) No, and I wish they did.
7) No, thank goodness!
8) My kids aren't in school.
9) Some other answer.
