Documentary depicts children's lives with Tourette syndrome
Monday November 7, 2005
You'll have to get the HBO Family channel to catch the premier next week of "I Have Tourette's But Tourette's Doesn't Have Me," a half-hour documentary featuring children ages 6-13 talking about what it means to them to have Tourette syndrome, what they're doing to treat it, and the problems they face in school and social settings. The insightful program will be shown frequently on HBO Family throughout the next two months, but if you're not in HBO's family of subscribers, you can still find out about the film and its young subjects by watching Oprah tomorrow, November 8, when three youngsters featured in the film will go on the show and try to talk but not tic about the documentary and their lives. You can also order a DVD of "I Have Tourette's But Tourette's Doesn't Have Me" from the Tourette Syndrome Association, which collaborated in the film's production.
