Does Tim Burton have Asperger's?

Thursday November 17, 2005
Looking for celebrity role models for your child with Asperger syndrome? You may have another one to add to the list: Actress Helena Bonham Carter reports in an interview that, while playing the mother of autistic sons in a TV movie, she found that many of the symptoms of Asperger syndrome reminded her of her partner, director Tim Burton. Does the creative mind behind films like "Edward Scissorhands," "The Nighmare Before Christmas," and "Corpse Bride" really have AS? Bonham Carter reports that "We were watching a documentary about autism and he said that's how he felt as a child." The BBC movie she's starring in, "Magnificent 7," is based on the family of Luke Jackson, author of a Harried Parent's Book Club selection, "Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome."
