Gifts for children with cancer

Thursday November 17, 2005
"Leukemia may bite ... but I bite back!!!!" That playful message, along with a photo of a toy dinosaur, bedecks one of the T-shirts on the list of "Gifts for Children with Cancer" added to the Holiday Survival Kit today. Celebrating the faith, courage and spirit of young cancer patients and survivors, the gifts include stuffed animals like a "Chemo Bearapy" bear, a "Cancer Journey Photo Album," a shirt with slots for holding medication tubes, and a pretty beaded "Hope Bracelet." Bracelets make good gifts for family members, too: Buy a 10-pack of the "Reach the Day" wristbands benefiting children's cancer research listed in "Wear Your Heart on Your Wrist" and use them to stuff some deserving stockings.
