Question of the Day: Inappropriate gifts

Tuesday December 27, 2005
The learning game purchased for your child's chronological age, not developmental age. The "Grand Theft Auto" video game for the child who perseverates on unfortunate phrases. The 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle for the child who's still mastering 20-piece versions. The garment that makes your daughter look sexier than her lack of impulse control allows. Family and friends mean well, goodness knows. They give with love. But sometimes, it must be said, without sense. Did your child receive any inappropriate gifts this year? Click on the correct category below, and use your browser's back button to select more than one.
1) Toy too advanced for his intellectual abilities
2) Toy too advanced for his motor abilities
3) Technology too advanced for his developmental age
4) Technology I personally don't think ANY child needs
5) Music I don't allow
6) Video games I don't allow
7) Movies I don't allow
8) Clothing I don't dare let my child wear
9) Other inappropriate gifts
10) No inappropriate gifts
