Whether you're just starting to think about what sort of school accommodations your child with autism is going to need, or already in the thick of the IEP fight, this site looks to be an invaluable resource. Based on the forthcoming book "Autism: Asserting Your Child's Special Education Rights" by attorney David Sherman, it gives a good overview of the issues involved in getting an appropriate education for a child with autism, along with links to additional resources. Even parents without autistic kids will want to take a look at the section on sample letters. Some require a code from a purchased copy of the book to download, but others -- including requests for assessments, a parent attachment to an IEP, and a thank you letter -- are available for free. ...
