Are you a mom with the write stuff?

Monday January 30, 2006
You could write a book. You know you could. But until you get the time/energy/inspiration/six-figure advance, get your feet wet with this: The publishers of "Real Moms Speak: Wisdom from the Trenches" are looking for moms to answer a series of questions for possible inclusion in the compilation book on the joys and jolts of motherhood. While it's not specifically special-needs related, questions like "What unique challenges have you or your family faced since you became a mother?" and "What did people tell you about motherhood before you became a mom that you found was not true in your case?" sound like they could benefit from a special-needs perspective. Besides fulfilling your publication fantasies, participating in the project could earn you a writing paycheck. Once the book sells 10,000 copies, contributors will get $20 for each answer used in the book, up to $200. Hey, every great writer had to get her start somewhere. Read the questions here, for fun if not for profit, and see if you've got something to say about them.
