Question of the Day: Time-out spots

Time outs can be an effective disciplinary technique for children with special needs, and a useful bit of breathing room for their parents. But where does your tyke do his or her time? Click on one of the time-out spots below, and use your browser's back button if you need to choose more than one.
1) In his or her room
2) On a special chair or bench
3) A spot on the floor
4) On my lap, with me holding tight
5) Anyplace that's handy
6) As time in -- enforced time with a parent

I am disgusted at your suggestions of time-out places. I see this as nothing but degrading for a child, harming their self-esteem and causing them to be very angry.
I am a parent and an educator and have never resorted to this sort of punishment. You need to do more research and become better educated before you continue to work with children.
