Patrick Dempsey to discuss dyslexia tonight
Wednesday March 1, 2006
Dr. McDreamy's dyslexic? That's the revelation being advertised for tonight's Barbara Walters interview with Patrick Dempsey, the actor who portrays surgeon Derek Shepherd on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. According to news reports, Dempsey will talk about being diagnosed with dyslexia at age 12, struggling in school, and the trouble he still has reading scripts. The special, relocated from its usual after-Oscar berth to take advantage of the last night of sweeps, will air tonight at 10 p.m. eastern time, following Lost. If your child has learning disabilities, it might be worth taping Dempsey's segment (other interviewees are George Clooney, Mariah Carey and Matthew McConaughey) and viewing appropriate parts together at a more reasonable hour.
