Spruce up your child's behavior for spring

Saturday March 25, 2006
If the recent change of seasons has you thinking "spring cleaning," don't let all that tidying up stop with just your floors and your windows and your furniture. Ask yourself whether the behavior plan you've put in place for your child is still working, and see whether a clean sweep in that area might make your home a more pleasant place to be as well. Finding a behavior chart or a behavior book or a behavioral strategy that really works for your child can be harder than cleaning grout or chasing dust bunnies, and often a solution that works great for a while will need to be changed or repaired or at least dusted off on a regular basis. If you've let your behavioral resolve slide over the winter and are looking for some fresh new tactics to get you through to summer, add these areas of the Parenting Special Needs site to your spring-cleaning checklist:
+ Behavior Analysis Basics
+ Making Behavior Charts Work
+ Choosing Your Battles
+ Setting Attainable Goals
+ Behavior Books
+ Behavior Strategies
