Special education school, lesson #8: FBA

Monday September 18, 2006
Parenting Special Needs class is back in session, with instruction each school day from now to the end of the month on special education words and concepts you need to be familiar with. Today's topic is the Functional Behavioral Assessment, which requires school personnel to actually think about your child's behavior instead of knee-jerk handling it the same way they've handled it since schools were held in caves. Open your Web browsers to the definitions of FBA and begin reading, then review the past week's course work using the links below. You've got a quiz on Friday. Think FBA sounds like something that might help you with your child at home, too? Behavior Analysis Basics offers a quick review to get you started.
