Question of the Day: CDC autism study

Tuesday October 10, 2006
As About.com Autism Guide Lisa Jo Rudy reported yesterday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control has announced plans to study 2,700 children with autism to learn more about the interrelationships of autistic spectrum disorders, developmental delays, genetics and the environment. It would be nice to believe that there could finally be a definitive, useful study, the results of which everybody can agree on, but the issues may be too polarized for that to happen, and the CDC has already earned the distrust of a lot of parents by coming out against a vaccine-autism link. So what do you think about this $5.9 million study? Will you trust the results it comes up with? Pick an option from the poll at right, or click on "other" and explain yourself in the comments.
