Reader Comments on Use of Electric Shock

Thursday March 22, 2007

If a post about parents suing to continue using a cattle prod on their adult autistic son caught your eye a couple of weeks ago, there's a comment affixed to it now that bears reading, too.

It's entirely too lengthy for me to quote here, but if you go to the post and click on the "Comments" link, you can read the comment from Judy Bailey, M.Ed., in its entirety. There are some good links and a book suggestion, and a thoughtful discussion about the wrongness of painful consequences.

Stop by, read what this commenter has to say, and add your own opinions to the mix. Or just add your voice to the poll, if you haven't already. Current responses are running 78 percent for electric shock never being acceptable, 10 percent rarely acceptable, and 10 percent sometimes so.
