Site of the Day: Allergy Moms

Monday April 30, 2007

Like a good mom, AllergyMoms hopes to offer a little something for everybody. According to a blurb on the front page, "The AllergyMoms website provides support for parents of kids with food allergies. We feature articles and products for children with peanut allergy, milk allergy, egg allergy, wheat allergy, nut allergy, soy allergy, sesame allergy, shellfish allergy and multiple food allergies. We also provide new food allergy recipes (including dairy-free, gluten-free, and peanut-free recipes) as well as the latest news and research on breast-feeding, hypoallergenic formulas, eczema, reflux, anaphylaxis and school policy."

On the site, you can find a variety of news story round-ups, a blog, a monthly newsletter, a support group listing, information on free product samples, and action alerts. Comments on some recent posts on this Parenting Special Needs site indicate that parents of food-allergic kids can use all the inspiration and fellowship they can get. If you're feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or flustered by your child's dietary needs, AllergyMoms know best.

Hi Terri,
Thank you for letting parents know about our website. Raising children is a challenge for anyone and adding a food allergy (or allergies) can make it seem overwheming at times.

I hope moms will stop by and sign up for our free newsletter–actually all the resources on our site are free and there is more to come!

Take care,
Gina
