Food Allergy Awareness Week began yesterday, and I'll be highlighting some good resources for families of children with food allergies these next few days to contribute to that. First up is the awareness week page from the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, which provides materials for doing your own awareness work.
From this page, you can download a calendar of daily activities, print out awareness posters and brochures, and set up an award program to recognize children who help their peers with food allergies. We had some discussion last month about how much help parents of food allergic kids can expect from their child's schools and classmates, and there are some good tools here for establishing that support. It's a pretty good week to start putting that into action.
