Site of the Day: About.com Food Allergies

Friday May 18, 2007

About.com's new Food Allergy site is off to a strong start, with information on all sorts of allergies and how they affect children and adults. The site's guide, Victoria Groce, has celiac disease and knows firsthand about the challenges of dealing with restricted diets.

Among Groce's blog posts for Food Allergy Awareness Week is one on what schools are doing right for students with peanut allergies, with a reference to the peanut-ban discussions we've had on this site. Other writings of interest to parents of kids with food allergies: a post on flying with nut allergies; another on starting a dairy-free diet; and a listing of alternatives to peanut butter.
