Site of the Day: Al's Wrestling Talk
I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to channel my son's interests and obsessions into something productive. I haven't come up with the solution yet, but Al's Wrestling Talk shows me the kind of thing that's possible. The work of an eighth-grader with Asperger syndrome, it's an online radio show for kids who love wrestling, and want a program that speaks to them.
Host Alex Moshenko -- "Big Al" on the site -- is the son of Monica Moshenko, whose Disability News & Views Radio has been a past Site of the Day pick. She's shared an article about Alex at age 6 to show how far he's come.
If your child is also obsessed with professional wrestling, Alex's show might be a good thing to check out on Saturday and Wednesday nights, to find someone who shares that enthusiasm. If not, you might think about where your child's passion does lie, and whether there's a Web site or podcast in that. Do you suppose anybody would tune in to hear my son talk about keys?
