Musicians Speak Out for Special Needs
If your main interest in musicians these days is searching song lyrics on Google to make sure they're okay for your child to listen to, here are three stories in the news recently about musicians spreading the word about special needs. You don't have to listen to their music to appreciate their gestures.
The heavy metal group Twisted Sister (pictured, right) has donated proceeds from their album "Twisted Christmas" to Autism Speaks and Cure Autism Now, according to a post in the blog Discussing Autism.
Diabetes Health has more rocker news, with an article about Poison lead singer Bret Michaels sharing his experience with Type 1 diabetes. The now-44-year-old Michaels was diagnosed at age 6.
The six-year-old daughter of country singer Trace Adkins has food allergies, and the blog Check My Tag discusses his role as celebrity chair of the Food Allergy and Anapylaxis Network's annual Walk Towards a Cure for Food Allergies.
