Site of the Day: AboutKidsHealth: Just for Kids

Friday August 24, 2007

Looking for a good online place for your child to spend some time in these waning days of vacation? Preferably something not involving Disney Channel characters? The Just for Kids spot on the AboutKidsHealth site from The Hospital for Sick Children might be just what you're looking for.

Here, in a fun and funny format, kids can learn important facts about how human bodies work. Children with special needs can also learn more about their bodies' particular issues, with special sections on asthma, diabetes, pain, radiation and epilepsy.

When the kids are done, you might want to poke around the site a little yourself. The grown-up sections of the AboutKidsHealth site offer good resources for increasing your own knowledge of children's health and disabilities. Not so many beeps and cartoon characters, but still an informative visit.
