Site of the Day: AdLit.org

Wednesday November 7, 2007

If keeping your teenager reading is a major job for you -- and I speak as one whose daughter, if I didn't force her to sit and read with me regularly, would never willingly crack a book -- AdLit.org may have some resources and reading lists of use to you. A production of the Washington, D.C. PBS station WETA, which is also responsible for the younger-kid site Reading Rockets, AdLit.org shares strategies for teachers and parents aimed at getting adolescents excited about reading.

On the site, you can find author interviews, newsletters, research and reports on reading, and a blog about books for teens. There's also an index of articles specifically for parents, with titles like "4 Steps to Finding an Excellent Tutor for Your Child" and "How Can I Help My Child Do Well on Tests?"
