Site of the Day: CGMS Central
I've had a couple of minor insurance victories lately, so it put me in the mood to support a site like CGMS Central, which seeks to harvest the collective coverage experience of people with diabetes (and those who fight their insurance battles for them) and make it available to the next insurance warrior who comes along.
With a mission "to provide resources to help people to get their Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems (CGMS) reimbursed by their insurance companies," the fledgling site presents editable articles on the requirements of various different insurers, along with a forum in which to discuss strategy and successes. A free membership allows you to start a blog; write or edit articles; create Q&As; and participate in the forum.
This particular effort will only be of interest to those dealing with CGMS payback, but it's an interesting idea that may be worth adapting to other special-needs insurance challenges. If you participate in a similar site for another disability, or start one, leave some information about it in the comments here.
