Site of the Day: A Safe Thanksgiving With Food Allergies

Friday November 16, 2007

Gina Clowes of AllergyMoms offers a dozen great tips for planning a Thanksgiving feast that's safe for your food-allergic child and joyful for everybody. Ideas include sending guests a little poem to remind them not to bring something your child can't eat; ways to avoid cross-contamination if the meal's not all allergy free; and a suggestion to make the day about something more than eating. That's pretty good advice for any family.

Also on the AllergyMoms blog for holiday reference is a Food Allergy Free Thanksgiving Menu, with links to safe and delicious recipes around the Web (if you need more recipe choices, I have some gathered here, too), and a lesson on Food Allergy Etiquette.
