Site of the Day: HelpKidzLearn

Friday December 28, 2007

The internet is full of online games for kids. But finding ones that are simple enough for kids with learning disabilities or developmental delays, that don't require more dexterity than a kid with fine motor delays can muster, that work well without keyboarding ability, or that can work with assistive devices like switches -- that can be quite a scavenger hunt for a parent.

HelpKidzLearn is one such needle in the haystack, offering games, stories, drag-and-drop picture makers, click-on coloring books, and how-to videos for kids. The site is free of the kind of blinking, distracting advertisements that mar so many kids' sites, though there are links to similar games and activities for switch-enabled computers in the store of the site's host, Inclusive Technology.
