2007: The Year in Your Comments

Monday January 7, 2008

Instead of writing a "Year in Review" piece this year, as I did for 2005 and 2006, I'm going to let you, the readers, do it for me.

Looking over the past year in this blog and the items that drew your comments, I see a pretty good summary of the things that drew our interest and ire over the past twelve months. School shooters. Papoose boards. Don Imus. America's Next Top Model. Ransom Notes. Peanut bans.

Especially, peanut bans. A couple of posts on whether schools should ban peanuts brought the largest number of comments ever on this site -- 107 for the first one and 48 for the second -- and the closest we've had here to a flame war. Then again, I've posted things this year that I was sure would bring a fiery response ... and then nothing, no comments, nada. Far better have been the times I've shared about problems with my kids and received responses that reassured me I was not the only one. Thanks for all those responses, the mad ones and the glad ones, and ones you refrained from lobbing at my head.

The following is a list of posts you all found comment-worthy this year. See something that piques your interest or pushes your buttons? Comments are still gladly accepted for any and all.
