Site of the Day: Model Me Kids

Friday April 4, 2008

Social story books are a good way to help kids with autism spectrum disorders model appropriate behaviors, but Model Me Kids takes that one step forward with training videos that bring those social situations to life. The DVDs, each about an hour long, tackle subjects like school, playdates, conversations, friendships, and stressful events.

From the Model Me Kids site, you can watch samples of the DVDs and order them; get information on how to use the training videos; watch a documentary on a classroom of children with autism at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD; and find out about the team of counselors, therapists, and special educators who put together the Model Me Kids DVDs.
