Saturday January 10, 2009

A Saturday "Site of the Day" special: Most days, a single Site of the Day is plenty to keep you occupied. But on Saturday morning, with kids underfoot and a weekend's worth of amusement needed, something more intensive is called for. So be sure to stop by here every week for your super-sized listing of Five Fun Things to Do Today -- including a family activity, a site for the kids, a shopping site, a site offering humor or inspiration about parenting children with special needs, and a site that's just silly or fun. Today's list:

  1. Activity: Gift Wrap Memory Game
  2. Kids' Site: This Is Sand (click on square in corner for instructions)
  3. Shopping: Kidz Comfort
  4. Inspiration: "I Dreamed"

I really enjoy This Is Sand – it’s so pretty, and soothing to watch the sand flow. If you click-and-drag your mouse on the colour-change screen, your sand will cycle through the colours at the end-points. :)

It is cool, isn’t it? My daughter enjoys holding the cursor in place and making pyramids.

I learned about that site through the “31 Days of Fun” going on now at the About.com Family Computing site. I recommend that anyone interested in fun kid sites check it out all through this month. I’ll probably be stealing more for my Saturday listings here. :)
