Weekday Reflection: Parent-Child Bond

Read: "Remember, your child is not simply a problem to be solved or an animal to be trained ... The best discipline starts with a strong parent-child bond." -- Cary S. Chugh, Don't Swear With Your Mouth Full, this week's featured book.

Reflect: Is my relationship with my child solely based on handling behavior issues? Is our bond as strong as it could be? How does that affect my ability to be in charge?

Respond: Try to spend a little time each day just chatting with your child, playing together, reading a story, taking a walk. If there's any common ground between you, spend some time there.

Every weekday, take a moment to read, reflect, and respond to a passage from a book, blog, or article. ... More Reflections
