Katherine Heigl Adopts Baby With Special Needs
A few years ago, I wished in this space that the next addition to the Brangelina brood might be a child with special needs. Though Angelina and Brad have yet to answer that call, there is a new celebrity adoptive parent of a child with special needs to celebrate: Katherine Heigl announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday that she and husband Josh Kelley are adopting a baby with special needs from Korea. Heigl mentioned that she has a sister who was adopted in Korea, and wanted to start her family the same way.
There's no word yet on what "special needs" the baby -- who will be a year old in November -- might have, but according to a report on Celebrity Baby Scoop, she came home to her new parents over the weekend, and is already receiving visits from Mom's Grey's Anatomy castmates. More on this story as information comes out, but for now, best wishes from one adoptive parent to two new ones.
UPDATE: No news on what the special needs entail, but some seriously cute photos of the new family.
