What It Is: "Fashion Moves is dedicated to creating more quality clothing choices for people with disabilities or other health concerns. The Fashion Moves Garment Design Competition is the main component of the Fashion Moves Project. Open to College and University Fashion and Textile Design Students around the World. Winners will be announced at the Awards Celebration will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia in March 2010, following the Winter Paralympics which are being held in Vancouver/Whistler."

Who's In Charge: Ruth Clark, who creates clothing for people in wheelchairs through her business Fashion Magic Apparel.

Why It's Worth Checking Out: Challenging designers to consider the needs of people with special needs for a variety of different types of clothes -- professional, formal, sport, leisure, outerwear, lingerie -- is a good way to raise and expand awareness. The winning designs will be made into patterns available for commercial sale.
