What It Is: "National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30."
Who's Behind It: "The Office of Letters and Light organizes events where children and adults find the inspiration, encouragement, and structure they need to achieve their creative potential. Our programs are web-enabled challenges with vibrant real-world components, designed to foster self-expression while building community on local and global levels."
Why It's Worth Checking Out: It's a fun way to motivate yourself to write something every day (you've only missed one, now), and wouldn't it be great to get some wonderful special-needs novels out of our brains, onto the page, and into the hands of readers?
Where to Start: Read how it works, then sign up and get writing. If you're taking the challenge, keep us posted about your progress in the comments here.
