Find a Gift That Delights Your Child, Traditional or Not

I asked you to share the best gift your child has received, and reader Cathy made a suggestion that took me back to the days when we used to give my son a box full of shopping bags because that's what delighted him. Cathy writes: "One of the gifts my son likes best is a large cardboard box filled with helium balloons...when he tears off the top (no lid) the balloons float up. Balloons aren't a common Christmas item, so no long line to pick them up at the party store!!" What kind of gift is your child excited to open? Share your inspirations on the Readers Respond page.

Plush, animated stuffed animals you can buy at Walgreens during the Xmas season. Last year I bought my son a plush xmas tree that sang danced and lit up! It was 14.99 and he slept with it everynite till it actually stopped working a couple months ago.
