What It Is: Two moms of children with special needs making blankets to help other babies in need. According to the site, "The blankies are for kids of all ages with life threatening illnesses. No child will be denied a blankie, so don't be afraid to fill out a request. It takes at least two weeks to find material, have it stitched, and then crochet around the edges. It may take longer if we have a lot of blankies to do."
Who's In Charge: Jaxson's mommy, Lacey, and Arianna's mommy, Julie, are the blankie makers. Writes Lacey, "I wanted to start this for kids because so many people give to us when Jax is sick, and this is my way to pay it forward. My mother-in-law taught me how to crochet the blankies 3 years ago, and its been my favorite pastime since. I really enjoy picking out the blankies for each individual child."
Why It's Worth Checking Out: The site features a blog profiling all the little ones who have received blankies, as well as a form for requesting one and an opportunity to make a donation to "help give blankies."
Where to Start: Watch a slide show about the blankies and the babies who've received them.
