“Ignored, Shunned and Invisible”: if everyone thought about this, they would use the R word a lot less.
Books on my pile: Deer Hunting with Jesus, Names for Nothingness and Political Lives. The Running Press Cyclopedia too.
On the e-book list: Come the Darkness, Come the Light by Vanessa Vega.
Also I am reading Dead Europe and Lorna Doone. Haven’t touched either for three weeks. Picked up Matilda much more recently and am up to the part where Miss Honey and Matilda work together.
(Hint: the gifted have special needs too! And think about Matilda’s family).
Interesting list. As always, Terri, I’m impressed with your commitment to your topic.
My current reading: Beyond Alzheimer’s (for my website), Rising Tide (about the 1927 Mississippi River flood) and The Women in audiobook form (a fictionalized account of the women in Frank Lloyd Wright’s life). Aren’t books grand!
Maybe we just ought to leave it as “SPECIAL” children, so no one is ignored sunbed or invisible.
A great booklist, as always. I hope some of these titles arrive at my library soon!
