Reply buttonHave you had any luck getting the school to provide a laptop for your child to use in class and at home? A parent on the Parenting Special Needs Forum would like to know exactly what IEP wording got you that accommodation. Writes MammaKateM:

"He has had an assistive technology assessment back 3 years ago...and they gave him an "AlphaSmart." He does not like nor use the AlphaSmart because the screen is too small and he has a hard time following the type. What wording do we use to get the school district to understand and to provide him with a laptop to use? And yes, his LD and other disabilities support the use of a computer."

If you have some information or experience that can help this parent get her child the technology he needs, share it in the forum.
