Soon enough, it will be time for our kids to hit the books as they return to school. In the meantime, why not do a little reading yourself to prep for the work you'll have to do to advocate for your child effectively with teachers, therapists, and IEP team members? Maybe a book on inclusion, if your child is headed into a regular-education classroom this year. Maybe one on special-education law, if you're expecting a fight. Maybe one on reading techniques, if you're planning to drag your child kicking and screaming through English assignments. Check these lists of reviews and book excerpts for your midsummer syllabus -- and add your own reviews of the books you've found useful (or useless).
