Today was the annual day to "Spread the Word to End the Word" -- the R-word, that is -- and I had hopes of writing something meaningful on the topic here. Then my son had emergency surgery on Saturday, my office moved to his hospital room, my writing and organizational time diminished, and as he to my great relief recovered well, he commandeered my laptop more and more to watch his beloved Shiloh DVDs. And so now, it's after 11 p.m., at the end of a long day and a long week, and I have neither great ideas nor energy to pursue them.
Fortunately, plenty of other bloggers had no such difficulty spreading the word to end the word today, so I'll make it my small contribution to list a bunch of links here in case you missed them. Regardless of the day, you can still sign the R-word pledge at r-word.org and become part of the campaign for respect. Wondering if that's really necessary? Read these posts:

I’m glad to hear he’s recovering well, and hope that you’re able to take the time you need so YOU can recover from his recovery time. *hugs*
