Here's my weekly gathering of products, events, and stories of interest that have landed in my e-mail queue or otherwise caught my attention this week:
+ Word of two educational opportunities passed through my inbox last week. "What Parents of Food Allergies Need to Know About Inclusive Education," featuring my The Inclusive Class Podcast cohost Nicole Eredics, is a free Webinar hosted by Kids With Food Allergies on July 31 at 2 p.m. Eastern. On July 25 at 1 p.m. Eastern, you can listen to a live half-hour "Fill 'Er Up" conference call from the Alert Program, in which Sherry Shellenberger and Carla Cay Williams will talk and take questions about transitions. Cost for that one is $15.
+ The Moyer Foundation has some openings at its Camp Erin in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania for "children and teens grieving the loss of someone close to them." The camp runs from August 24 to 26, and you can get more information about this and other locations on the foundation's site.
+ A Special Friend is a book for children written by a special-education teacher and illustrated by one of her students, a nine-year-old girl with autism. You can learn more about it on its Facebook page and a newspaper article about the book, and purchase it online at Anderson's Bookshop and Remedia, both of which offer a preview.
Do you have good books, apps, sites, or products to call to our attention? Write a book or app review, submit a site or blog, and post in the marketplace section of the forum.
