Here's my weekly gathering of products, events, and stories of interest that have landed in my e-mail queue or otherwise caught my attention this week:
+ October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and the National Down Syndrome Society is gearing up for the traditional Buddy Walks. You can find a PSA and video about Buddy Walks, as well as other resources for preparing for Down syndrome awareness activities, on an NDSS press release and the Buddy Walk section of the NDSS site. For more awareness and advocacy events taking place in October, check my monthly list, and add any I may have missed.
+ The latest addition to my book-review pile arrived in my mail today: School Struggles: A Guide to Your Shut-Down Learner's Success by Richard Selznick, whose book The Shut-Down Learner I reviewed a while ago. If you get to this book before I do, write a review of your own.
+ The Jessica Kingsley Publishers Blog has a list of National Autistic Society events featuring its authors. Even if you're not able to attend, checking the list for interesting topics may help you turn up books you need to read.
Do you have good books, apps, sites, or products to call to our attention? Write a book or app review, submit a site or blog, and post in the marketplace section of the forum.
