I've been having trouble keeping up with my TV viewing lately, leading to DVR pile-ups and evenings of knocking off as many shows as we can stay awake for. Watching lots of different detective shows in succession, I've noticed certain patterns that can be counted on in figuring out the villain -- it's rarely the most obvious suspect, it's usually the most recognizable guest star, there's always a need for a trick or a trap or a leap of intuition. I've also noted some similarities between those TV tropes and the trials and tribulations of figuring out a child with special needs' mysterious behavioral bumps and swerves. Just for fun, and maybe for some much-need inspiration, I've compiled a list of Ten Ways Your Child's Behavior Is Like a TV Detective Show, and wish you happy sleuthing through the disciplinarily complex month ahead.
