Here's my weekly gathering of events, activities, and sites of interest that have landed in my e-mail queue or otherwise caught my attention this week:
+ The Wrightslaw Store, home of lots of great special-education resources, is having a Christmas sale through midnight Wednesday, December 5. If a signed copy of Special Education Law, 2nd Edition under your tree sounds like the perfect holiday gift for kicking IEP butt in the new year, get shopping now.
+ Speaking of stores, there's a brand-new one for Better Endings, New Beginnings, dedicated to "creating a voice and purposeful living for persons living with FASD." Among the books featured on the front page are a Harried Parent's Book Club favorite, Tiny Titan, and a former Readers' Choice Award finalist, Nuzzle.
+ A post on the blog Free Technology for Teachers mentioned an interesting-sounding app for a variety of devices called myHomework. If you have a kid for whom getting homework in on time is a challenge (and for whom any sort of app is a fascination), this might be something to look into downloading.
+ I've loved seeing the replies to the "Would You Change Your Child?" Readers Respond page coming through this past week. The replies on both sides of the question have been thoughtful, respectful, and moving. Read what your fellow readers have written and add your own response.
Has something interesting rolled across your computer screen this week? Share in the comments.
