Earlier this week, sitting at a table in the cafeteria at my son's college, I had to give some kid the look -- you know, the one that says, Yes, I heard you just use the R-word, and you and I both know it's not right. It was a quick look; I'm sensitive to being a parent on a college campus and don't want to go around momming everybody. But I heard the kid give an uncomfortable giggle, so I'm pretty sure he knew he was busted, and while the talk from that table continued to be, let's just say, fresh, I didn't hear that particular offensive word again. Seems as though, if you're paying money to go to college, you should make them teach you some more words, don't you think? Maybe some of the ones on my list of alternatives to the R-word. Stretch your vocabulary, fellas.
