If you've been a fan of the Paralympics and inclusion in sports, you've probably been inspired by Oscar Pistorius, the double amputee who's dominated Paralympic track events and was the first athlete to run in the Olympics on prosthetic legs. Yesterday morning, a story broke about Pistorius that is not so inspiring: the 26-year-old is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend at his home in South Africa. There's been some word that he mistook her for an intruder, but nothing official from authorities as of this writing about his story or the evidence. The BBC's Ouch! blog points up some difficulties in keeping a suspect with a disability in a jail cell, and other accounts of the case have been popping up on CNN.com, Mashable, Wired, and other mainstream news outlets. I'll be keeping a running list of links on the story as it develops on the page for Special-Needs Sports News for February 2013. If you see any stories, link to them in the comments here and I'll add them in.
