I've suggested before in this space that summer is the perfect time for a potty-training project -- warm and unstructured days are exactly what the "No Pants" Toilet-Training Method calls for. Even if the weather and the schedule cooperate, though, there's no guaranteeing your child will. Despite your best and most clever efforts, if your kid's not read, your kid's not ready. Though most of the world will fill your ears with reasons it's terrible your little one's not with the potty program, there's an upside to continued diaper dependence that's worth considering, especially when you don't really have much choice. Read "Ten Good Things About Not Toilet Training Your Child," keep your chin up, and move on to a challenge you can both handle.
