Email Your Guide

Like all the Guides at About.com, I'm a real person. You can email me at specialchildren.guide@about.com. I'll try to answer your questions, or direct you to a resource that can. If you're looking for advice or commiseration, though, a great place to start is in our Forum. That way, you can hear from me and from many other parents who may have dealt more specifically with your situation.

Post to the Forum

I check the Forum regularly. Post your questions or comments and you'll get input from a variety of voices. The Forum also gives you the opportunity to share your special knowledge with others. You'll be surprised what you can figure out when you're networking with other parents.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. Can you tell me what's wrong with my child, my doctor or my school district?

A. Probably not. If you want a specific medical or legal opinion, you'd do best to find professionals in your area who can examine your issues firsthand. What I can give is some advice on what questions to ask and where to start looking for answers.

Q. I have a website that would be interesting to parents with special needs. Will you add it to your list?

A. Send me the name, the url and a brief description, and I'll check it out. But I'll only contact you if I do add it to the site.
