One thing I learned from our "Camp Mom" summer: Papier mache is a risky craft to try when you're working with children with sensory issues. One of our campers couldn't stand the touch of the various types of paste we tried. Finally, we tried laundry starch, and that she liked -- but my son wouldn't tolerate it. Cheap kits from the crafts store kept them busy, and a project where we melted down old crayons into new flat crayons was fun. We did a big collage one time with magazine cut-outs, and they always enjoyed drawing and coloring. You can see in my day-by-day description a listing of all the crafts projects we did.
