The Dandy-Walker Alliance asked families whether their children had hydrocephalus, and required surgical treatment. Of the sixty families from all over the U.S. who responded:
- 44.6 percent of the students have hydrocephalus and required surgical treatment
- 42.9 percent do not have hydrocephalus
- 12.5 percent have mild hydrocephalus that has not required surgical treatment
