Do Children With Dandy-Walker Syndrome Have Memory Problems?

The Dandy-Walker Alliance asked families about their children's memory problems. Of the sixty families from all over the U.S. who responded:

  • 25 percent of the students never have problems with short-term memory
  • 23.1 percent always have problems with short-term memory
  • 19.2 percent almost always have problems with short-term memory
  • 17.3 percent occasionally have problems with short-term memory
  • 15.4 percent sometimes have problems with short-term memory

  • 33.3 percent of the students never have problems with long-term memory
  • 25 percent sometimes have problems with long-term memory
  • 17.6 percent occasionally have problems with long-term memory
  • 13.7 percent almost always have problems with long-term memory
  • 9.8 percent always have problems with long-term memory
